Nika Steward didn’t want to risk being subjected to her family history of type 2 diabetes. Neither did her husband. So after she decided to give paleo a try, she realized she was more attracted to keto. She suffers from PCOS, which we’ve talked about on the podcast before. One of the common consequences of PCOS is infertility.
After one month of keto, Nika became pregnant.
A couple of years later, after becoming keto again, she got pregnant again. At that point, she realized that she wasn’t on a diet, but she was choosing a lifestyle.
And she wasn’t going to let her kids risk the same dangers. So she made the decision to raise her kids keto.
And she hasn’t looked back. She is a constant and tireless advocate for the healthy lifestyle for kids that includes whole, real foods, and refuses to abuse her kids with sugar. In this incredibly fun interview, we talk about the possible link between sugar and ADD/ADHD, common arguments against keto for kids, and how to have confidence in you decision to raise kids healthy.
Nika is dynamite and is an absolute blast to talk to. I know you’re going to love listening to her.
